A common issue with the DBXL 2.0 is the fuel tank leaking fuel while in use. This is caused by a couple of things, if you look at the rear of the fuel tank you will notice a small soft circle, this is the plug hole that was created when the tank was made, but unfortunately they did a very poor job of sealing it. Whatever they used to fill this hole disintegrates as soon it comes into contact with the fuel, leaving a mess all over your chassis, not to mention a real fire hazard!
The other issue is the breather hole in the fuel cap its self has a very poor valve system causing fuel to pump out especially if you roll your truck so it ends up on its roof, the fuel poor's out!
To fix these issues, I fit a breather tube along with a 1-way valve & I sealed the breather valve in the fuel cap that is no longer needed. To seal the hole in the tank I tried various epoxy's/glues etc. The one which works for me is an epoxy/resin type filler called "JB MARINE WELD" I first removed cleaned up the hole and removed whatever solution they used to fill it, then gave it a quick sand, then I applied the JB Marin Weld. To Seal the fuel cap breather hole, I used some 2-Part Gorilla Epoxy.
I then fit a 1 way breather pipe to the fuel tank, to do this I bought a new fuel tank grommet that has 3 holes as you need a 3rd hole for the breather pipe to pass through (you could also make a 3rd hole yourself in the stock grommet) I then used some fuel tubing and added a 1-way breather valve to the end.
So far my tank hasn't leaked and its held up great!
